Journals of a tour in France and Northern Italy by Sir Francis and Lady Palgrave; autumn 1836. The Palgraves travelled from Calais to Nice, and thence to Genoa and Milan. They returned via the St Gotthard Pass, through Switzerland and down the Rhine. Engraved portraits of Sir Francis and Lady Palgrave are inserted at the front of both volumes. Purchased from the Bridgewater Fund from P. M. Pollack Rare Books, South Brent, Devon, [month?] 1991.
