LLEWELYN POWYS NOTEBOOKS: literary notebooks of Llewelyn Powys (b.1884, d.1939), writer and journalist; 1933-1937. Autograph. All are inscribed to and bear the bookplate of Lloyd Emerson Siberell, bibliographer of the works of Llewelyn and his brother, John Cowper Powys. Several of the essays drafted in these notebooks were first published in newspapers. Some were subsequently reprinted in collections of essays in book form. For letters of Llewelyn Powys see Add. 54330 and 58499. Purchased from Bertram Rota, 17 Dec. 1986, and incorporated in 1988.
