This entry comprises two items, now kept separately. The first, known as Additional MS 60628/1, is an illuminated roll containing Peter of Poitiers's Compendium historiae in genealogia Christi, created in England in the second half of the thirteenth century. The second item, Additional MS 60628/2, comprises nine fragments of an early 17th century deed of sale used to patch holes in the original thirteenth-century roll, which were subsequently removed from the roll and are now boxed. They were photographed under ultraviolet light; these photographs are included in the box.

'ROLL CHRONICLE OF PETER OF POITIERS. Part I A. Compendium historiae in genealogia Christi; circa 1250. Among the additions to the basic text is a commentary on the Lord's Prayer at the end of the roll. Ten coloured drawings and five diagrams in red, blue, green and yellow. Vellum. 5065 x 285 mm.
Part I B. Nine fragments of an early 17th cent. deed, temp. James I, used to repair the first membrane of the roll. The document records the sale by Thomas Reynolds to Richard Jones, for the sum of £580, of properties in cos. Glouc. and Mon., including the rectory or vicarage of Lantrissen [Llantrissent], near Chepstow, a parish in the diocese of Llandaff. Kept with these fragments are photographs (ff. 10-11) of the two largest of them and of the area from which they were lifted, both taken with the aid of ultra-violet light, and a rough sketch (f. i) showing the positions of the fragments when attached to the roll.
