1. ff. 1-26. Examinations, depositions, letters, etc., relating to Lady Arbella Stuart whilst a prisoner in the Tower following her secret marriage to William Seymour; 1613. Partly copies. Particularly concerning her escape attempts and her relations with her aunt and fellow prisoner, Mary Talbot, Countess of Shrewsbury; also including letters between her husband, William Seymour, and his grandfather, the Earl of Hertford.
2. ff. 27-82. Letters and papers relating to the disputed marriage of Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford, with Lady Katherine Grey (sister of Lady Jane Grey); 1561-1606. Partly copies. Partly Latin. Including a commission for the examination of Hertford and Lady Katherine, letters from Hertford to the Queen and the Earl of Northampton, and legal opinions relating to appeals of Hertford concerning the validity of the marriage; 1561-1606.
