PLAN OF TRIESTE: 'Plan Von der Kais: Koenig: freüen See und Handels Stadt alt und neü Theresia Stadt Triest'; circa 1780. Scale circa 1:3300. 'Mass=Stab von 300. Wienner Klafftern (sic)' [=1725 mm.] German. The plan shows proposed extensions to the port and Theresienviertel of Trieste and was probably surveyed and draughted by Austrian military engineers. Appparently a presentation copy. The plan is oriented with south-east at the top. Proposals shown in yellow with existing buildings, etc., in pink. For dating see also Triest von 1700 bis zur Zukunft (exhibition catalogue, Graz: Landesmuseum Joanneum, 1972), pp. 7-19. Purchased from Susanna Fisher, Cat. 51, item 88, Feb. 1987.
