Papers of Wilfred Partington (b.1888, d.1955), journalist and author; circa 1886-1954. Signed, typewritten, printed, copies. The collection consists of working papers relating to Partington's bibliographical and biographical studies of Thomas James Wise, and includes correspondence, interviews, notes and reminiscences, etc., used in T. J. Wise in the Original Cloth (1947), first published in the United States as Forging Ahead (1939). See Add. 52743, 59620, 59621. Purchased from Mrs Audrey Ormrod, 18 Dec. 1975.
