ENGLISH VOCAL MUSIC: a collection of English vocal music consisting mostly of glees by W. H. Woakes of Hereford; 1st half of 19th cent. Also included are compositions by Dr John Wall Callcott, Sir Henry Bishop, William Knyvett, Stephen Paxton, Samuel Webbe, Lord Mornington, Charles James Dare of Hereford, Sir George Smart and John Stafford Smith. Partly in the hand of W. H. Woakes, one item (f. 11) being dated 'Sep. 1835'. The contents of this volume were once pp. 203-325 of a larger collection. Purchased of Ulrich Drüner of Stuttgart in 1978.
