Title:

WARREN DAWSON PAPERS. Antiquarian and egyptological collections of Warren Royal Dawson, O.B.E., F.R.S.E., F.S.A.; early 17th cent.-circa 1958, n.d. Chiefly autograph. The collections, which contain some original material, were largely made by Dawson (1888-1968), who was a broker at Lloyds', in connection with his publications. The collections are orderly and the volumes are foliated by Dawson, who provides lists of contents or indexes where appropriate. For catalogues of the collections see Add. 56311-56314. For correspondence bequeathed with this collection but reserved for ten years, see Add. 60347. Most of the volumes bear Warren Dawson's own numbers (W.D.). Dawson's bookplate appears in numerous volumes, eg. Add. 56300, f. i. Bequeathed by Warren Royal Dawson, 20 July 1968, and incorporated in June 1970.

Chiefly paper. Seventy-three volumes. The collections were arranged and bound by Dawson in cloth bindings, usually blue, unless otherwise noted.
