Notes on ff. 32, 84, 103, are possibly by Sir Edward Tyas Cook, author of The Life of Florence Nightingale, 1913, but those at ff. 32, 65, 88, 97, [98?], are by Mrs Rosalind Frances Mary Nash, who published a revised edition of the Life, 1925. At f. 85 is a draft letter of Florence Nightingale to her aunt, Mary, wife of Samuel Smith, 6 Aug. 1887, a fuller version of which was printed by Cook, op. cit., ii, pp. 353-4, with the date 5 Aug. Presented by Mrs Mary Dunlop, niece of Ida Beatrice O'Malley, the biographer of Florence Nightingale.
