1. ff. 1-34. 'Sketch of the Proceedings at Oporto between the 11th September 1832 & 1st Oct 1835'. An account by T. Hill of the Miguelite siege of Oporto in which he served at the age of sixty with the defending forces of Don Pedro as a volunteer in the British legion.
2. ff. 34b-39b, 66b-67. Diary by T. Hill of two journeys to France for experiments with Congreve rockets; 19 Nov.-22 Dec. 1833, 1-22 Jan. 1834. At the end (ff. 66b-67) is a copy by T. W. Hill of a related report, 1834.
