DIARY OF SIR JOHN KNATCHBULL, 2nd Bart., of Mersham Hatch, co. Kent; 16 Sept. 1688-4 Apr. 1689. Copy, aft. Mar. 1848, by Fanny Catherine Knatchbull, 2nd wife of Sir Edward Knatchbull, 9th Bart., (note on f. 1b) of the original, then at Mersham, which is described on f. 1b as being in poor condition, and has now disappeared. Add. MS. 33923, ff. 430-481b, comprises an earlier copy, by the Rev. Thomas Streatfield, 1835. Contains an interesting account of the 1688 Revolution, extracts from which, relating particularly to James II's capture off Sheppey and detention at Faversham, 11-14 Dec. 1688, have been published in Notes and Queries, 3rd ser., vi, 1864, pp. 1-3, 21-3, 41-3, 81-2, 121-2. Quaritch, cat. 864, 1965, item 806.
