RITCHIE PAPERS: letters and papers of and concerning Charles Thomson Ritchie, 1st Baron Ritchie of Dundee 1905 (d.1906); 1879-1958. Partly copies, also typewritten and printed material. The papers chiefly relate to Ritchie's resignation as Chancellor of the Exchequer from Balfour's government in 1903 and include draft memoranda by Ritchie on the subject (ff. 89-94v, 95-105v). The volume also contains the following material concerning the resignation:
(a) newspaper cuttings; 1903. ff. 74-81;- (b) correspondence etc., of Ritchie's grandson, John Kenneth, 3rd Baron Ritchie; 1958. ff. 113-130. Presented by the Right Hon. the Lord Ritchie of Dundee, 23 July 1966.
