SUPPLEMENTARY HYNDFORD PAPERS

45113-45121. CORRESPONDENCE AND PAPERS OF JOHN CARMICHAEL, 3RD EARL OF HYNDFORD, the diplomatist, consisting of documents which were not incorporated into the original series of Hyndford Papers (Add. MSS. 11365- 11387) and relating chiefly to Lord Hyndford's diplomatic missions to Russia, Prussia and the Imperial Court in Vienna; 1741-1752. At the end of the papers (viz. Add. MS. 45121, f. 145) is a document, dated August 1763, relating to the Douglas peerage case. The first two volumes, i.e. those relating to the mission to Prussia (45113, 45114), have been arranged according to the New Style, and the residue of the collection according to the Old Style. The names of the writers are given in the Index to the present Catalogue. Nine volumes. Folio. Latin, English, French and German. Presented by Sir Windham Eric Francis Carmichael-Anstruther, 11th Bart.
