Title:: MAHATMA PAPERS OF ALFRED PERCY SINNETT, being his correspondence and papers in connection with the Theosophical movement; 1880-1890. Sinnett, before he left India in the spring of 1883, was editor of The Pioneer, Allahabad, and was in close touch with the then recently founded Theosophical Society. The present material inspired his books The Occult World (1881) and Esoteric Buddhism (1883), but the originals were not published in full until 1923 and 1925 under the editorship of A. T. Barker as The Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett and The Letters of H. P. Blavatsky to A. P. Sinnett. The present arrangement of the volumes retains the order of the printed texts. A third edition of The Mahatma Letters was published by the Theosophical Publishing House, Adyar, Madras, 1962, and is edited by Travers Christmas Humphreys and Elsie Benjamin. Seven volumes. Paper. Folio and (Vol. VI) quarto. Presented by Miss Maud Hoffman, executrix of A. P. Sinnett.
