(Some items were displaced when the manuscript was originally bound. See below.) Contents:-(1) Register of taxes in Fuent e de Sauco, 27 Nov. 1651, with the approval of the council, 28 Nov. 1651. Imperfect. ff. 1-3b, 29-32b (original foliation 36-38, 49-52);-

(2) Testimonies of hidalguía (ff. 6-18) of Marcos Hernandez, 4 April 1605, obtained to support his petition (ff. 4-4b) to be received as hidalgo in the town of Fuente de Sauco, 2 Mar. 1605, with the approval of the Council of Fuente de Sauco (f. 18-18b), 14 May 1605. Notarial copy. ff. 4-19;-(3) Confirmation of the acceptance of Marcos Hernandez as hidalgo, 1 Feb. 1620. ff. 19b-20;-(4) Royal decree and confirmation that Cristoval Hernandez as hidalgo should not be entered on the commoners' tax register in Fuente de Sauco, 1 and 7 Feb. 1625, With (f. 22b) note of acceptance by the council of Fuente de Sauco on the latter, 15 Nov. 1625 (cf. art. 8 below). Two seals en placard. ff. 51-52, 21-22b;-(5) Acceptance by the council of Fuente de Sauco of Alonso Hernandez, son of Cristoval Hernandez, as hidalgo; 18 Dec. 1654. ff. 23-24;-(6) Genealogical table of the Hernandez family, n.d. ff. 25- 26;-(7) Agreement (with dissentients) by the council of Fuente to accept Antonio and Joseph Hernandez as hidalgos; 30 May 1672. ff. 27-28;-(8) Testimonies of hidalguía (ff. 33b-39) of Cristoval Hernandez, 3-13 June 1625, in support of the royal decree in his favour (cf. art. 4 above), and his acceptance as hidalgo by the council of Fuente de Sauco, 15 Nov. 1625. ff. 33-50. Fragment of a leaf from a late 17th cent. choir book (containing beg. of the introit '[Ego au]tem sicut oliva') written on five-line stave ('musica ficta') as in other Spanish MSS. of this date, has been used as a binding, ff. i, ii.
