ACCOUNT OF THE BOMBARDMENT OF ALGIERS, entitled 'Minuets [sic] taken on board H M Ship Impregnable on the 27 August 1816 From the Commencement to the End of the Action' by Lieut. Harry Wilson, R.N. (d. circ. 1850). Autograph. Included are notes of casualties, etc., during the action, and a copy of the 'Termes offred by Lord Exmouth and Agreed by the day of Algiers' (the terms are printed in a slightly different version by A. Salamé, A Narrative of the Expedition to Algiers in the year 1816, 1819, p. 21). For other accounts of the action see W. L. Clowes, The Royal Navy; a History, vi, 19O1, pp. 226-231, and various lives of Viscount Exmouth, particularly C. N. Parkinson, Edward Pellew, Viscount Exmouth, 1934, pp. 416- 472 (especially pp. 459-461), where the account of the part taken in the action by the 'Impregnable' differs in detail from the present minutes. Paper; ff. i + 2. Folio. A. D. 1816. On f. i, below an endorsement containing the author's name, is a memorandum in pencil by the donor that Lieut. Harry Wilson was the 'brother of Sarah Wilson wife of Edward Wise my grandfather'.
