SUPPLEMENTARY AUCKLAND PAPERS
45728-45730. Further correspondence and papers of William Eden, 1st Baron Auckland (d. 1814), statesman and diplomatist, together with papers of other members of his family, mostly of a later date, and consisting chiefly of correspondence of his sons, George Eden, Earl of Auckland, Governor-General of India, 1810-1848 (Vol. III, ff. 51-115 passim), and Robert John Eden, 3rd Baron Auckland, Bishop of Bath and Wells, 1834- 1864, n.d. (Vol. III, ff. 77-145 passim). Supplementary to Add. MSS. 29475, 34412-34471, 37689-37718. For other Auckland Papers see Add. MSS. 46490, 46491 and 46519. The papers as a whole were used for The Journal and Correspondence of William, Lord Auckland, 4 vols., 1861-1862, edited by G. Hogge, with a preface by the 3rd Lord Auckland. The letters from the 1st Lord Auckland included in the present collection are originals. Three volumes. Various sizes. Presented by Miss Violet Mary Dickinson, granddaughter of the 3rd Lord Auckland.
