45750-45849. A further selection (Vols. XII-CXI) from the correspondence, literary manuscripts and other papers of Florence Nightingale, O.M. 1907 (d. 1910), supplementary to Add. MSS. 43393-43403 (Vols. I-XI) and the remainder of this archive, viz. Add. MSS. 47714-47767 (Vols. CXII-CLXV), which will be described in a later Catalogue. Some of the documents in this collection were printed by Sir Edward Tyas Cook in The Life of Florence Nightingale (1913), by Mrs. Ida Beatrice O'Malley in Florence Nightingale 1820-1856 (1931), and by Mrs Cecil Woodham-Smith in Florence Nightingale (1950). See also Brit. Mus. Quart., xv, 1941-1950, p. 28. Many of the original letters addressed by Florence Nightingale to her correspondents will be found in these volumes; included also, however, are many typewritten copies of documents selected from archives other than that preserved in this Department. Many of the drafts of Florence Nightingale's letters to her correspondents and of her literary manuscripts, etc., are in the hands of their compiler, Dr John Sutherland. One hundred volumes.
