English, French, and Italian. The contents comprise transcripts of outgoing official, business, and a few personal letters. At the end of each volume is an index of correspondents, who included James Porter (knt. 1763), British Ambassador at Constantinople, Arthur Pollard, Drummond's predecessor as Consul at Aleppo, and George Wakeman, Consul at Cyprus. Neither volume includes any of the letters to the writer's brother George that were published as Travels through...Germany, Italy, Greece, and parts of Asia, London, 1754. Two volumes. Paper. Large folio. Given to the donor by her uncle, Sir Thomas Riddell, 3rd Bart. Presented by Miss Ethel Hodgson.
