A. 'A Chapter of Proverbs': a typewritten copy of verses by Rudyard Kipling (d. 1936), in 32 stanzas, unpublished in his lifetime and not included in the definitive edition of his verse, 1940; n.d. A covering letter from the donor (f. 3) states that, as in the case of Add. MS. 45680, ff. 155-156 (p. 218 above), the verses were given to him by Mrs Kipling, who had decided not to publish them.
