Journal of Sir John Norris after his return to England, as Admiral of the Fleet, Privy Councillor, etc., with reports of Cabinet meetings, interviews with Sir Robert Walpole, and other ministers, chiefly concerning naval affairs; 6 June, 1739-25 May, 1740. At the end is a command to his heir not to permit the entries made since he became a privy-councillor [6 Sept. 1739], to be published or copied. Autograph; with signaitire, f. 13. Lists of ships, printed proclamations, etc., are enclosed; and original letters from F[rancis] Gashry [Comptroller of victualling accounts] and Andrew Stone [secretary to the Duke of Newcastle] occur at ff. 25, 33.
