OFFICIAL letters addresseed to Colonel William Sydenham, Governor successively of Weymouth and tyhe Isle of Wight, with a few other papers and 1etters; 1643-1659. Many of the letters are from the Council of State, signed by John Bradshaw, President; others from committees of the Parliament, and Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex. At the end of the volume is a deed of convevance from the garrison of Southampton to Colonel Sydenham of Carisbrook Park, otherwise Parkhurst Park, in the Isle of Wight, which had been assigned for arrears of pay; dated 22 Aug. 1651, and signed and sealed by 147 officers and soldiers.
