BREVIARY of French use. Latin. From the prominence given in the calendar to the festival of St. Lo, Bishop of Coutances, 22 Sept., and from the inserted entries "Dedicatio ecclesie Costantie," 12 July, and "Dedicatio beati Laurentii de Esquoquevilla" [Esqueudreville or Escoville, in the Côtentin], 28 July, it is probable that the use is that of Coutances. Besides the full Breviary there are included:-
1. "Summa super canonem misse edita a fratre Petro monacho ill Burgundia," f. 346 b.
2. "Planctus beate Marie quem composuit beatus Bernardus," f. 352. Vellum; 1308 [see f. 9]. The following obits are entered in the calender, viz. :Guillaume Bard. . . . . .10 June, 1378, f. 2;-"mater mea Egina uxor. Joannis Habard," 21 June, 1412, f. 2;-"pater meus Joannes Habarde," 26 Feb. 1417, f. 2;-Thomas Adrien, 26 Oct. 1552, f. 7; and the names of owners are:-Michel Daumaille, prestre de Pretot [Prettot, near Coutinces], 1614, 1622, ff. 2, 355 b;-P. Adrien, ff. 9, 397;-and Pierre Lemoigne, ff. 397, 398. Small Quarto.
