At an early period the manuscript was owned by George Moult (f. 6) and George Thomas Woodson (f. 184b). Large additions were made to it in 1647, etc., by Thomas Tomkins, organist of Worcester (see ff. 2, 217b), and others; and in the 19th century, it belonged to Robert Smith (bookplate — doubtless the wine-merchant of St. Paul's Church Yard mentioned on f. 222b), T. Jones (before 1826 — see beginning), Joseph Warren (1847), and J. Bishop.
