Add MS 31303

1. Two fragments, measuring 10 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, being the larger portions of two leaves, from a MS. of the Biblia Pauperum, with drawings, as printed in the early block-books. The leaves have been torn front top to bottom, with a loss of nearly half of each. The subjects are: the Betrayal, Judgment, Crowning with Thorns, Bearing the Cross, Crucifixion, Piercing the Side, Burial, Harrowing of Hell. Written in Flanders or Germany in the xivth cent.

2. Four fragments, measuring about 8 x 5 inches, two being the upper and two the lower halves of four leaves of a MS. which contained an early form of the Biblia Pauperum; the text being written on either side of the page,, with a scheme of circles in the middle for the reception of drawings, which, however, were left blank, and have been partially filled up at a later period. Titles were written at the top and bottom, describing the two subjects on each leaf. Those which remain are as follows : - " Baptismus christi," " Resuscitacio Lazari," "Cena domini," "Dieumbens iesus in domo symonis," " Descensio christi ad inferos," " Visitacio sepulcri domini," " Apparet dominus Marie Machdalene," "Apparet iesus christus thome apostolo."
