1. GIRALDI CAMBRENSIS Topographia Hibernica. f. 3. Imperf., beg. with the words ",Qui tandem ad corpora interns" in Dist. i. cap. 20 (Gir. Camb. Opera, Rolls ed., vol. v. p. 53). The text appears to 'be that of the second or third edition. At the end (f. 26) is a rude map, coloured green edged with red, of Britain, Ireland, and the Orkneys, much resembling that in Arundel MS. 14, f. 27 b (ed. cit., p. xviii.); and below it is the letter of Giraldus addressed to William [de Vere], Bishop of Hereford [1186-1199], found by Mr. Dimock (ed. cit. p. 203) in four MSS. only.
2. Petri Alfunsi Disciplina Clericalis: a fragment, comprising the Invocation, Introduction, and the opening words of the work (of. Cat. of Romances, vol. ii. p. 232). f. 27.
3. " Excerpta prime et secunde partis de libris sacramentorum magistri Hugonis de Sancto Victore, de quo dictum ert ' Huic patuit soli scibile quicquid erat,' " bog. " Introducendis ad sacram seripturam." f. 28. On paper leaves at the end (ff. 46-49) are copies by Sir James Ware of Latin inscriptions from churches in Dublin, and one in Irish from Tuam Cathedral. Vellum, and (ff. 1, 2,46-49) paper; ff. 49. The original portion (ff. 3-45) is written in double columns, each article in a different hand, of the xiiith cent. Bound in brown leather, rebacked, stamped with the arms of Sir James Ware (ob. 1666). The same covers formerly contained also nos. 33,992-33,994, and a list of the full contents is here given (f. 2), headed " Vol. VIII." The volume is included under that number in the Catalogue of Sir J. Ware's MSS. printed at Dublin in 1648, p. 5. It afterwards belonged to Henry Hyde, 2nd Earl of Clarendon (Cat. libr. MSS. Angliæ, Oxon. 1697, vol. ii. pt. 2, p. 4), and to John Brydges, 1st Duke of Chandos (Sale Catalogue, 1746-7, p. 65, no. 1569). It contains the book-plates of [John Rawdon, list] Earl of Moira (1750, ob. 1793), and William Horatio Crawford, of Lakelands, Cork. Small Quarto.
