3. Treatise in two parts, beg. " Opusculi huius series circa quadam membrorum remedia." f. 7. Each part is preceded by a table of contents. Part i. (which is imperfect) begins, " Dolor capitis multis modis accidit." Part ii. is headed (f. 29 b), " Incipit secunda particula in qua proponit auctor tractare de omnibus wlneribus in humano corpore factis a vertice capitis vsque ad plantam pedis"; it begins (f. 30 b), " Vulnus capitis aliquando fit." 4. " Specialis tractatus ad omnia wlnera sananda." f. 51.
5. Treatise headed, " Nunc dicendum est de omnibus vnguentis . tractibus . emplastris . nee non et pulueribus ad Cyruroiam pertinentibus." f. 54. With colophon (f. 69), " Explicit. Nomen scriptoris Henricus Plenus Amoris," the hand being the same as that of artt. 3, 4.
6. A collection of recipes and charms, in English. f. 80 b.
7. A work on medicine. Imperfect at the beginning. f. 149. The first part (ff. 149-168 b) consists of short notes and recipes, in Engl., Fr., and Lat. (but from f. 160 onwards in Lat. only), without any apparent order. At f. 168 b begins a regular treatise, " Epilensia dicitur ab epi, quod est supra," etc., with colophon (f. 210 b), " Explicit rosula medicine secundum M[agistrum] J[ohannem] de Gatesdene." John de Gatesden or Gaddesden (fl. 1320) was a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, and the author of several medical works, the best known of which is the Posa Anglica; this was edited by Nicolas Scyllacius (Pavia, 1492), and again by Philip Schopf (Augsburg, 1595). For an account of it, and of the author's life, see Freind's History of Medicine (Joh. Freind 0pera Omnia, London, 1733, pp. 550-555); see also G. C. Brodrick, Memorials of Merton College (Oxford Hist. Soc., 1885), P. 176. The present article appears to be an abridgment of Gatesden's work by some later writer, Gatesden being referred to (see ff. 170, 171 b). The rest of the volume is filled with medical notes, charms, and recipes, chiefly in Engl. and Lat., with a few in Fr., in various hands of the 15th cent. (with a few later additions, of the 16th cent.). Vellum; ff. 215. xvth cent. With book-plate of William Horatio Crawford, of Lakelands, Cork. Small Octavo.
