Probably the actual presentation copy, having Essex's coat-of-arms at f. 3 b, and that of Knollys (Lettice, daughter of Sir Francis Knollys, was mother to Lord Essex) at f. 7 b, both in colours. There is also a pen-and-ink drawing of a fencer with sword and dagger at f. 23. Printed at London, 1599 ; the last part (ff. 42-46 b), entitled " A briefe note of three Italian teachers of Offence," was reprinted in the Antiquarian Repertory, vol. i., 1807, p. 165.
