1. "Capten Thomas Lea his booke of sundrye abuses comitted by great officers and other in Ireland " : the " Discouerie," with the dedicatory epistle (see Add. 33,743, ff. 7-52 b). f. 2.
2. "The begining and contynuaunce of the Rebells of Ireland, by degrees, truly discouered," by Thomas Lovell. Addressed to Queen Elizabeth, and written between 1585 and 1597. f. 49.
3. " A direct[i]on for the plantation of Ulster, contayning in it sixe principall thinges," by Thomas Blenerhasset. Addressed to Henry, Prince of Wales. Printed in 1610. f. 57.
4. " A remembrance of some parte of the seruices donn by Morris fitz James fitz Gerald, of Mocolpe within the countie of Waterford in the realme of Ireland, being performed against his owne neare kinsemen, and their followers . . . . by John fitz Gerald, sonne vnto the said Morris. Dated the 23th day of Nouember, 1610." Addressed to [George Carew] Lord Carew. f. 73.
5. "The Supplication of the blood of the English most lamentably murdered in Ireland, cryeing out of the yearth for reuenge." Addressed to Queen Elizabeth, and written about the end of 1597. f. 84. Paper; ff. 121. xvith-xviith centt. At f. 1 is the signature of George Carew, Baron Carew (1605) and Earl of Totness (1626), with the date 1617. He was Master of the Ordnance in Ireland 1587-93, and President of Munster 1600-08. His arms also are stamped in gilt on the covers. Small Quarto.
