'1. RICHARD Rolle of Hampole's Prick of Conscience; in English verse. Imperfect ; wanting the first 182 lines of the Prologue. Colophon: "Explicit tractatus qui dicitur stimulus consciencie, Anno Domini millesimo ccccmo quinto, secundum manum Roberti Farnelay capellani." The name "Roberti" has been altered to "Johannes," and the words "manentis in Bolton" have been added. f. 1.
2. Credo in Anglicis an English poem on the Apostles' Creed. f. 104. Begin "Or Crist into cloudes gan flye up so swyftly Pe pater noster pyght was in boke to he broght." End: "Withoutyn any mysse, Mary, pou pray Pat we may come to blisse. Amen, quod Farnelay." 3. "Templum Domini": an English poem in 780 lines. f. 105 b. Begin: "Gode Pat alle thynge first began Has giffen his grace in diverse gyse." End: "Als he of not alle thynge began Gif us pe blisse pat lastes ay." 4. "Nichodemus de passione Christi": the Gospel of Nicodemus in English verse (a different version from that in Cotton MS., Galba E. ix., and Harley MS., 4196). f. 116 b. Begin: "It betide pat tyme pat Tyberyus Ruled alle Rome wt ryalte." End: "Pus felle it in certayne Of Jesu more and lesse." 5. Fragment of an English religious poem. f. 140 b. Begin: "In a semely someres tyde, Als I gan walke in a wilde woude, Undre a bowe I saw abyde A company of clerkes gude." Articles 2-5 are written in a different hand from that of art. 1, and are of rather later date. Paper; ff. 140. XVth cent. On the margins of some of the leaves (ff. 17b-27b, 47b-50) are written, in a hand of the 17th century, some religious pieces and notes in verse and prose. Belonged to Thomas Stead (f. 103 b) and William Richardson (f. 33 b) in the 17th century, and to Francis Britland in 1695 (f. 17). Names of other persons also occur, ff. 102b, 108b, 115b. Octavo.'
