"SECRETUM Philosophorum": a compendium of natural philosophy, etc., with examples and recipes, arranged under the heads of Grammar, Rhetoric, Dialectics, Arithmetic, Music, Geometry, and Astronomy; with coloured diagrams. It begins: "Iste liber, quem præ manibus habemus, vocatur Secretum philosophorum, et intitulatur isto nomine quia in co continentur quædam secreta quæ reputatione vulgari stint impossibilia, apud philosophos secreta et necessaria." (See SI. MS. 2579, Add. MS. 18,752.) f. 3.
2. "Experimenta Alberti" Magni, de herbis, lapidibus, et animalibus. Begins: "Sicut dicit philosophus, omnis scientia est de genere bonorum." (See Ar. MS. 251. f. 25 ; SI. MS. 3281. f. 15.) f. 84 b.
3. "Liber de aquis, et primo de aqua preciosa herbarum": directions for distilling waters of various kinds. Begins: "Actus mirabilis aquarum quas composuit Petrus Hispanus cum naturali industria." f. 95.
4. Recipes for curing wounds and diseases, making unguents, treating stones and metals, etc. Fr. and Lat. f. 104.
5. "Summa experimentorum medicinalium Magistri Petri Ispaliensis, qui dicitur liber nomine thesaurus pauperum." f. 116. Vellum; written in England early in the XIVth cent. A few recipes and extracts have been added on spare leaves. The name of John Bayly, an owner in 1611, is on f. 179 b. Originally in Tudor binding. Small Octavo.
