This manuscript contains the following texts:
ff. 2r-6v: 'Dels miracles de Santa Maria Vergena' ( Miracles of the Holy Virgin Mary) and 'Delas vii filhas del diable' (The Seven Daughters of the Devil);
ff. 6v-19v: 'La ystoria de sainh Turpi' (Pseudo-Turpin chronicle), the only known copy in Provençal;
ff. 19v-29v: 'De las meravilhas de la terra de Ybernia', a translation of Philip of Slane, Libellus de description Hiberniae, presented to Pope John XXII by Slane, bishop of Cork, probably in 1324. This was in turn a Latin abbreviation of Giraldus Cambrensis, Topographia hibernica).
Two sets of foliation in Roman numerals, show that the leaves that currently make up this manuscript were formerly located between ff. 62 and 63 of Egerton MS 1500.

-
Origin: France, S. (Avignon)
Provenance:
Two sets of foliation in Roman numerals are continuous with that of Egerton MS 1500 (lxv-lxxxxvi (lower margin) and lxiii-lxxxxiiii (upper margin)), indicating that they were originally part of the same manuscript.
Perhaps associated with the Papal court in Avignon: a dedication to Pope John XXII (f. 19v) was copied from the Latin presentation copy of Philip of Slane, Libellus de description Hiberniae that was kept in the Papal library.
Bought by the British Library from Messrs Boone, booksellers, 8 December, 1849.
