f. 1r-v: A letter from Heinrich von Lichtenau (b. 1444, d. 1517), Prince-Bishop of Augsburg, imposing the Augustinian rule on the monastery of St Ulric, Dillingen, dated 23 June 1512; written in German, beginning, 'Wir heinrich von gottes gnaden Bischoff zu Augspurg...'
ff. 2r-35r: The Rules of St Augustine concerning the government of nunneries, in a German translation, beginning, 'Diss sint die dinge die wir gebieten das ir die..'
f. 36r: The oath to be spoken by the nuns on their entry into the monastery, written in German, beginning, 'Ich schwester N enthais und gelob gehorsham...'
ff. 35v and 36v are blank.

Foliation: ff. 36 (+ 2 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning + 1 unfoliated parchment and 1 paper flyleaf at the end); f. 36 is a piece of parchment mounted on a modern paper guard.
Catchwords (ff. 7v, 15v, 23v).
Script: Gothic cursive.
Binding: Pre-1600. 16th-century pigskin covers, blind-stamped in black ink, featuring a central panel stamped with the monogram 'IHS' and foliate decorative borders.

The Dominican convent of St Ulrich, Dillingen: possibly made for and owned by the nuns of the convent during the 16th century (see Priebsch, Deutsche Handschriften (1896–1901), p. 174).
Adolphus Asher (b. 1800, d. 1853), Berlin bookseller and dealer: bought from him by the British Museum, 8 October 1850 (see inscription, f [ii] recto).
