COLLECTION of miscellaneous tracts, historical accounts, and letters relating mostly to the history of the Church and political affairs in 17th-cent. Europe; circa 1492-1715. Latin, Italian, and Spanish. Copies. Imperfect. Table of contents in Latin (ff. 2-3v), identifying the missing text after f. 80 as a commentary by [Girolamo?] Seripandi on St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans. 'D.V.10' and 'LXXIII' in pencil, and stamp 'biblioth / h.f. / J770' on f. 1: identifiable with Falconieri MS. 73 in Guilford's catalogue Add. 8220, f. 26v. Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '290' in pencil at center of f. 1. Purchased, together with Add. 8283-8289, 8344, 8358, 8433, 8688, 8788, and possibly 8416, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 290 (part).
