Table of contents (ff. 1-2). 'D.V.5' and 'LXXVI' in pencil, and stamp 'biblioth / h.f. / J770' on f. i: identifiable with Falconieri MS. 76 in Guilford's catalogue Add. 8220, f. 26v. Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '290' in pencil at center of f. i. Purchased, together with Add. 8282-8283, 8285-8289, 8344, 8358, 8433, 8688, 8788, and possibly 8416, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 290 (part).
Paper; ff. 317+i, plus three unfoliated blanks after f. 2, one after ff. 32, 89, 92, 109, 112, 116, 123, 125, 126, 127, 128, 130, 155, 156, 174, 184, 187, 207, 220, 242, 250, 251, 257, 258, two after ff. 36, 161, five after f. 147, and four after f. 301; ff. 215 and 217 formed by pasted leaves with text hidden in the middle. Old foliation in ink '1-351' (ff. 3-317), including blanks, omitting f. 171. Composite volume. 283 x 210mm. Several Italian hands. Guilford binding of quarter vellum with decorated paper covers over pasteboards.

2. ff. 131-147. 'Regole per il Seminario di S. Pietro', rules for the Seminary of St. Peter at Rome; after 1644. Italian. Copy. Inc. 'La santa memoria di Urbano VIII considerando providentemente'. Text divided into twenty chapters and including (f. 147) a table of contents.
3. ff. 166-174v. 'De Horologiis Solaribus', tract on sun-dials; n.d. Latin. Copy. Inc. 'Cap. Primo / Quomodo describantur Tropici / Ducatur primo linea A.B. quae sit meridiana'. Text divided into seven chapters.
4. ff. 177-317v. 'Scritture con le quali ho fatto la risposta a Benedetto Millini sopra l'imagine del Salvatore a Sancta Sanctorum', collection of original drafts and other papers of Fioravante Martinelli relating to his dispute with Benedetto Millini on the image of the Most Holy Saviour, known as Acheropita, in the Chapel of Saint Lawrence (usually called Sancta Sanctorum) in the Lateran Basilica; circa 1666. Latin and Italian. Autograph drafts and copies.
