Copies, 17th cent. Partly printed (ff. 121-122). Table of contents (ff. 1-2v). 'D.V.8' and 'LXXIX' in pencil, and stamp 'biblioth / h.f. / J770' on f. i: identifiable with Falconieri MS. 79 in Guilford's catalogue Add. 8220, f. 26v. Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '290' in pencil at center of f. i. Purchased, together with Add. 8282-8286, 8288-8289, 8344, 8358, 8433, 8688, 8788, and possibly 8416, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 290 (part).

Old pagination in ink 'I-XXIV' (ff. 3-13 and following blank), followed by old foliation in ink '1-179' (ff. 14-156), including blanks (with the exception of the blank after f. 42). Composite volume. 283 x 205mm. Several Italian hands. Guilford binding of quarter vellum with decorated paper covers over pasteboards.

2. ff. 24-28. Indulta, or grants of privileges, conceded by Pope John XXII to the Ventimiglia family; 1318-1322. Latin. Notarial copies, 1693. Inc. (f. 24) 'Dilecto filio nobili viro Francisco Vigintimiliensi Giracii Comiti etc. / Non indignum gerimus'. With paper seals.
3. ff. 76-81. Motu proprio, or papal decree, by Pius V on the fortification at Ostia; 1567. Latin. Notarial copy, 1711. Inc. 'Pius Papa V / Motu proprio etc. Volentes nos rationibus et causis'. With paper seal.
4. ff. 121-122. Universis Patribus ... Ordinis Praedicatorum / F. Ioannes Thomas de Rocaberti / S. Theol. Professor, eiusdem ordinis humilis Magister Generalis ac Servus, in Domino salutem / Et Hymnum novae laetitiae / Quandoquidem approbante Apostolo. Rome. [s.n.]. 1672. 4°. [2] leaves. 272 x 195mm. 5. ff. 140-144v. 'Fundatio Ecclesiae Sancti Stephani in Vaticano a Carolo Magno anno 797' [title on f. 2v], act of foundation of the church of St. Stephen in Vatican by Charlemagne; 797. Latin. Copy. Inc. 'In nomine Sanctae et individuae Trinitatis Karolus divina protegente potentia clementia Augustus', expl. 'Datum anno ab incarnatione Domini nostri Jesu Christi septingentesimo nonagesimo septimo indictione septima. Actum est in palatio iuxta Vaticano ad Basilicam S.
