LIVES OF THE CARDINALS during the Pontificate of Innocent X together with Bulls of Urban VIII; 1634-1642, n.d. Italian and Latin. Partly printed. Printed material with Barberini’s coat of arms. Table of contents (f. 1v). Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. ‘556’ in pencil in upper left corner of pastedown. Purchased from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 556.

Paper; ff. 142+i, plus one unfoliated blank after f. 116. Modern foliation in pencil 1-141 (followed here), omitting one leaf after f. 134. Old pagination in ink pp.1-221 (ff. 1-113). Composite volume. 210 x 150mm. Late 18th-cent. binding of vellum.
