Included in the MS. are: poems relating to the death of Clement XI and the following Conclave, 1721 (ff. 1-39); poems relating to the death of Innocent XI and the election of Alexander VIII, 1689 (ff. 39v-45v, 52v-55); poems relating to the Conclave following the death of Alexander VIII, 1691 (ff. 46-52, 55-73v); poems relating to the death of Innocent XII and the Conclave for the election of Clement XI, 1700 (ff. 74-92v); poems relating to the Jesuits (ff. 93-105); poem and sonnet relating to the Anno santo, 1675 (ff. 105-107); life of Innocent X by Nerone Politico, 1653 (art. 1, ff. 108-138v); life of Cardinal Giulio Mazarin by the so-called 'Anonymous of Turin', 1659 (art. 2, ff. 139-180v); letters relating to Cardinal Pietro Mazzarino, 1659 (ff. 181-193); life of Cardinal Giulio Alberoni, created cardinal on 24 April 1717 (ff. 193v-207); poems relating to Italy (ff. 208-248v). The MS. is listed in Palma di Cesnola, nos. 611, 1636, pp. 50, 128. Title (f. 1) 'Pasquinate in sede vacante di Clemente XI, Alessandro VIII, Innocenzo X. XI e XII / Vita del Cardinal Mazzarini / Vita del Cardinal Alberoni / Nerone Politico rappresente la vita e governo di Innocenzo X / Satire di Giuvenale e altri concernenti alla passata guerra di Italia'. Detailed contemporary table of contents (ff. 249-250v), entitled: 'Tavola di tutti i sonetti, satire, 2 prose, che si contengono del presente libro'. Armorial bookplate of 5th Earl of Guilford pasted reversed onto back pastedown. '556' in pencil in upper left corner of f. ii verso. Purchased, together with Add. 8371, 8375, 8380, 8381, 8429, and 8472, from R. H. Evans, 8 December. 1830, lot 556 (part).

1. ff. 108-138v. 'Nerone Politico ritornato al mondo rappresenta la Vita e governo di Innocenzo X 1653'; 1653. Inc. (f. 108v) 'Ma quel lieto portento di non più udita e sonora tromba'. Preceded by two ottave, inc. 'Giace questa mia Patria e appena i segni / delle alte sue mura 'l suolo serba'.
2. ff. 139-180v. 'La Vita del Cardinale Mazzarino / 1659 24 maggio'; 1659. Inc. 'Serenissimo Principe / Sono li cenni de gran personaggi commandamenti espressi a servitori'. Other versions of the same life in Add. 8751 (art. 1, ff. 1-47), 20063, 44983, all Guilford MSS., and in Add. 10900, 10906 (ff. 1-71v), both from the Canonici collection.
