Hülsen, Le Chiese di Roma nel Medio Evo (Florence, 1927), p. 265. Inc. (f. 1) 'In nomine domini Amen / Per hoc praesens publicum instrumentum cunctis pateat ... Anno domini Millesimo quingentesimo decimo quinto', expl. (f. 42) 'Datum Rome apud Sanctum Petrum Anno ... Millesimo quingenteximo sextodecimo quartodecimo Kalendis Junii pontificatus nostri anno quarto'. With 5 decorated initials (cadellae; ff. 5, 13, 28v, 33v, 36v). Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '87' in pencil in upper right corner of f. i. Purchased, together with Add. 8368, 8369, 8382, 8391-8396, 8397, 8398, 8399, 8412, 8413, 8417, 8418, 8419, 8423, 8424, 8425, 8515, 8525, 8660, 8706, 8721, 8722, 8723-8724, 8753, 8754, 8755, 8772, and possibly 8366, 8589, and 8727, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 87 (part).
Vellum; ff. 42+ii, plus one unfoliated blank (ruled) after f. 42; ff. 11-12 also blank (ruled). circa 224 x 142mm. Irregular gathering: 112 (ff. 1-12), 2-310 (ff. 13-32), 46 (ff. 33-38), 54 (ff. 39-42). No catchwords. Ruled in single column, 156 x 92mm; vertical bounding lines ruled in metal point; 31 written lines for 32 ruled lines in ink. Guilford binding of quarter vellum with decorated paper covers over pasteboards.
