Title (f. 1) 'Chirografi concessi da sommi Pontefici ai Governatori di Roma pro tempore / 1766'. Inc. Note on detached paper slip (between ff. 141-142) 'S. Bartolomeo all'Isola'. Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '84' in pencil in upper left corner of front pastedown. Purchased, together with Add. 8374, 8409, 8432, 8471, 8485, 8486, 8524, 8666, and 8690, from R. H. Evans, 8 December. 1830, lot 84 (part).

Paper; ff. 259+vi, plus four unfoliated blanks after f. 259. Modern pencil foliation '1-259' (followed here), omitting no. 156, omitting one leaf after f. 161. Old foliation in ink '1-259' (ff. 2-259, and following blank). 275 x 200mm. Horizontal catchwords on each leaf. Several Italian hands. Late 18th-cent. Italian binding of full vellum; edges mottled in red.
