ANTONIO MARIA ZUCCHI TRAVAGLI: Historical defence of the town of Pennabilli; 1752. Italian and Latin. Copy. Zucchi Travagli was a well known historian of Pennabilli and auditor in Pesaro of the papal legate of Urbino from 1750. The text relates to a territorial dispute concerning the town of Pennabilli that arose as part of the hostilities over ancient imperial feudal rights over papal territories between the Hapsburgs and the papacy under Clement XII (1730-1740) and Benedict XIV (1740-1758). The dispute concerning Pennabilli had started with the work by abbot Giovanni Battista Marini entitled J. B. Marinii ... adversus P. Daniellium compluresque alios Pinnenses Apologeticon Feretranum (Pesaro, 1732), B.L. copy 658.e.35, and was continued by P. A. Calvi in Ad pseudo-Feretranum Apologeticon Jo. Baptistæ Marini Daniellii, Pinnensiumque responsa exarata per P. A. Calvi (Ventiis, 1739), B.L. copy 660.c.23. The present MS. is entitled (f. 1) 'La Città di Penna Billi ristorata ed il Montefeltro vindicato dalla calunnie del Signor Arciprete Giambattista Marini e Signor Cancellario Saverio Marini Teologo dell'insigne Cattedrale di Pesaro / Dissertazione d'Anton Maria de' Zucchi Travagli da' Penna Billi / 1752', inc.
