The texts relate to political alliances, fiscal problems and diplomacy in the Duchy of Savoy during the Nine Years War and the Spanish War of Succession. Armorial bookplate of the 5th Earl of Guilford, with shelfmark L/19/A (front pastedown). '520' in pencil in upper left corner of front pastedown. Purchased, together with Add. 8545, 8551, and 8558, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 520 (part).

Paper; ff. 132+ii, plus one unfoliated blank after f. 94. Composite volume. 270 x 200mm. Guilford binding of quarter red leather with marbled paper covers over pasteboards.
