Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '332' in pencil in upper left corner of f. 1. Purchased, together with Add. 8401, 8404, 8654, 8707, and possibly 8588, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 332 (part).

'Relazione fatta dal Marchese di Bedmar Ambasciatore della Maestà del Re Cattolico della Repubblica di Venezia mentre vi è stato Ambasciatore del Re Cattolico presso l'istessa Repubblica', relazione of Venice presented to Philip III of Spain by the former Spanish ambassador Alfonso de la Cueva y Benavides, Marqués de Bedmar, after his expulsion from the Venetian territory in June 1618 under suspicion of involvement in a plot against the Republic; 1618. Inc. 'Laboriosa impresa per certo è questa', expl. 'le quali dal canto mio al sicuro non si stancaranno. Dum Spiritus hos reget artus rej'.
