The miscellany is preceded by a table of contents (f. 1), 'Tavola Difesa De Gli Illustri Signori Nicolò, Tristano, & Federico Savorgnan. / Raccolto Delle Cose Allegate, & Produtte per l'Illustrissimo Sig. Lodovico Birago, avanti il Re Christianissimo e suo Consiglio. / Manifesto Del Capitan Vincentio Locadelli Da Cremona'. The MS. is described by C. Foligno, ‘Codici di materia veneta nelle biblioteche inglesi’, in Nuovo Archivio Veneto, n.s., 6, xi (1906), pt. ii, no. lxxxv, pp. 178-179. Stamp of the Colonna library 'Libraria Colonna' in red on ff. i, 1, 252, 444v, and v verso (for the Colonna library stamp see Bragaglia, vol. iii, T 32: c. 1750). Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '60' in pencil in upper left corner of front pastedown. Purchased, together with Add. 8377, 8511, 8593, 8671, and 8787, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 60 (part).

'Difesa degli Illustri Signori Nicolò, Bristano et Federico Savorgnani dalle false imputationi date loro, et all'honorata sua famiglia dal Signor Martio Colloredo', paper relating to the fierce dispute between the Savorgnan and Colloredo families addressed by Niccolò Savorgnan to the Accademia degli Storditi in Bologna; 1566. Inc. (f. 4) 'Havendo il Signor Martio Colloreto tentato di entrar in querela', expl. (f. 116) 'potrà andare dove sono deposte che gli sarà mostro il bisogno'. Preceded by a presentation letter of Niccolò Savorgnan to the Academics, dated Ferrara 30 April 1566 (f. 3-3v).

In Turino, appresso Martino Cravoto M.D.LXI.', MS. copy of a pamphlet published by Ludovico Birago, captain of Charles ix of France, refuting accusations made against him by Scipione Vimercati and explaining his refusal to duel; 1561. Inc. (f. 118) 'Manifesto / Lettera al Rè Christianissimo / Sire / Ancorche le molte opere mie', expl. (f. 240v) 'quali copie contenono sedici fogli scritti incluso il presente. 'Manifesto del Capitan Vincentio Locadelli da Cremona', papers and legal testimonies sent by Vincenzo Locadelli to Pietro Paolo Arrigoni, President of the Senate in Milan, in self-defence against the charge of murder and robbery of Francesco surnamed Zoppino of Mantua brought against him by the Marquess of Pescara; after 25 Nov. 1564. Inc. (f. 243) 'All'Illustrissimo et Eccellentissimo Signore P. Pavolo Arigone dignissimo Presidente dell'Illustrissimo et Eccellentissimo Senato di Milano / Invio questo mio manifesto à Vostra Eccellenza', expl.
