History of Vicenza to 1200; 18th cent. Italian and Latin. Imperfect. This anonymous chronicle begins with the foundation of the town in 1710 B.C. and ends with a treaty of peace between Vicenza and Padua in 1200. The text is divided into ten books and includes copies of ancient inscriptions and documents. Inc. (f. 279) 'sperando per mezo di questa pace pigliare alquanto di ristoro'. The MS is described by C. Foligno, ‘Codici di materia veneta nelle biblioteche inglesi’, in Nuovo Archivio Veneto, n.s., 6, xi (1906), pt. ii, no. lxix, p. 169, and listed in Palma di Cesnola, no. 330, p. 23. Marginal notabilia and additions to the text. References to pages of another MS. or book throughout and some staining of typographic ink may indicate the possible use of the present MS. as the exemplar for a printed edition. Paper; ff. 281, plus one blank after f. 149. Four leaves missing (ff. 46, 104, 130, and one leaf after f. 137). Contemporary Arabic foliation in ink divided into two sets, 1-134 (repeating nos. 72-75, followed here), and 1-132 (ff. 135-264).
