A collection of papers, mostly ristretti di ponenze (i.e. abstracts of formal proposals) submitted by cardinals to the Holy Congregation of the Propaganda Fide concerning religious and local matters in those territories. Most ponenze endorsed with name of sender and subject. Owned by Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, but lacking his armorial bookplate. '201' in pencil in top left corner of front pastedown in 8657 and in top left corner of front flyleaf verso in 8658. Purchased, together with Add. 8246 and 8659, from R. H. Evans, 8 Dec. 1830, lot 201 (part).
