Table of contents (ff. 155-156) added by a later hand. Armorial bookplate of 5th Earl of Guilford (front pastedown). '5' in pencil in top left corner of armorial bookplate. Purchased from R. H. 1. ff. 2-81. Fifteen political satires relating to the relations between France and the German Empire; n.d. Inc. 'Satira Prima. Dialogo tra un tedesco e un francese / Tedesco / Che nuove di Milano habbiam Monsù Luigi', expl. 'Finiam ancor noi questo sermone'. Including (f. 22) a sonnet, 'Signor l'arco guerrier la spada antica'.

2. ff. 81v-84v. 'Testamento fatto dal duca di Medina Celi olim Vicerè di Napoli in sua partenza da detto Regno', will of Louis de la Cerda, Duke of Medina Coeli, Viceroy of Naples, before leaving the town; 1702. Inc. 'Quanto sia detestabile da se stesso il pessimo vizio dell'ingratitudine', expl. 'mettere tutto a sacco e fuoco / Napoli 14 gennaro 1702 / Noi don Luigi della Cerda Aragon ... Vicerè olim di Napoli'.

Followed by a prophecy in verses by the Sibyl of Cuma in Latin.

Paper; ff. 156+i; missing one leaf after ff. 140, 143, and possibly f. 148. Old pagination in ink '1-160' (ff. 1-156), omitting no. 3. 178 x 125mm. Horizontal catchwords on each page on ff. 1-38. Two main Italian hands. Guilford quarter binding of vellum over pasteboards with decorated paper covers.
