Chronique Universelle, a chronicle of universal history from the Creation to 1340, divided into 6 ages.
Decoration:
7 full-page miniatures in colours with gold. Initials and line fillers in gold on red grounds.
The subjects of the miniatures are:
f. 1r: The Expulsion from Paradise;
f. 4r: Noah, his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, and their wives;
f. 6r: An angel takes Abraham's sword as he is about to sacrifice Isaac;
f. 12v: Servius, King of Rome, having ditches dug around the city;
f. 16v: David with his harp, outside the walls of Jerusalem;
f. 33v: Caesar Augustus with a sword and orb;
f. 41v: The Baptism of Christ.
Miniatures attributed to Jean Colombe de Bourges, (b. c. 1430, d. 1493) (see Claude Schaeffer, Jean Fouquet (1994)).

From the printed Catalogue of Additions (1877), 'COMPENDIUM of universal history, from the Creation to A.D. 1340, divided into six ages. The sixth age commences with the death of Christ, and contains the history of the Latin and Greek emperors, and kings of France, to Philip V., a leaf being wanting for the remainder of French history after f. 89; followed by a history of England to the battle of Sluys, 1340. Fr. Beginning: "Dieu fist le monde tout ensamble." End: "eluy a tolut, a tollut sori nauire a lescluse en flandres, lan de grace mil iij e. et quarante. Qui est lan qui court pour le present que ee liure flit compose et fait." Vellum; written and illuminated in France in the xvth cent.; with seven miniatures. Octavo.'
