Decoration:
One large decorated initial 'P'(refacionem) with interlace, floriated motifs and zoomorphic elements, in a multi-coloured frame, with green, red, yellow and blue (f. 1r). Nine large decorated initials with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic elements, interlace and floriated motifs, green, red, yellow, blue and sometimes gold (ff. 13r, 34v, 50v, 66v, 77v, 94r, 110v, 132v, 163r). Two large initials with penwork decoration, in red and blue (ff. 25r, 175v). Initials highlighted in red. Quire signatures in Roman numeral. Running titles.

Provenance:
The Benedictine abbey of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, Rangéval: a 12th-century ownership inscription in the colophon 'Hic liber est Sancte Marie Magdalene de Rengis Valle. Si quis eum abstulerit anathema sit'(f. 187v).
Bought by the British Museum from W. G. Warton, 8 July 1888 (f. [iv] recto).
