THOMÆ EBENDORFFER DE HASELBACH Directorium Historicum: A compendium of the history of the Emperor., of the West, preceded by a short account of the Four Monarchies; in seven books, the last of which is an abridged recapitulation of the others, from the origin of Rome downwards. Written for the Emperor Frederick III., in 1450, by his chaplain, Thomas Ebendorffer, of Haselbach, in Lower Austria, Canon of St. Stephen's, Vienna, and Pastor of Bertholdsdorf. Vellum and paper; in the original leather binding, stamped on one side with the arms of Austria, the inscription, "Fridericus Rex etc. 1451," the Emperor's device, "A. E. I. O. U." and the name of the binder, "Petrus ligator;" and on the other side with a shield bearing a griffin with an ox's head. On the inside of the cover are the signatures of "Joannes Theobald Gallinger, 1645, 1677," and his son-in-law, "Julius Fridericus Bernard," Amtschreiber at Buchsweiler or Bouxweiller in Hanau-Lichtenberg.
